MESSAGE FROM MRS. JOHNSON -
Welcome to November. I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween and relaxing weekend. We are hearing major construction on the new middle school will be starting on Monday. I’m concerned about the possible noise. Hopefully, it won’t be too bad. We will need lots of patience and remember this too is temporary and the end result will be a beautiful new school.
Thank You,
Mrs. Johnson

Counselor Aloha:
Students need to talk to someone if they are dealing with a complicated issue or mental health concerns. Some students feel like they can talk to their parents and some just have a hard time talking to an adult they know, due to judgement. Here is a great resource to allow students to anonymously talk to a professional and not be judge:
If you need to talk, the 988 Lifeline is here.
At the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, we understand that life's challenges can sometimes be difficult. Whether you're facing mental health struggles, emotional distress, alcohol or drug use concerns, or just need someone to talk to, our caring counselors are here for you. You are not alone.
Ms. Aloha
Substance Prevention:
Hi GMS parents and guardians! This year, we will continue our substance prevention lessons to educate and inform our students on the risks of substance use on their developing brains. This year, we are changing this up by using a program created by Stanford University: A comprehensive, harm-reduction-based drug intervention curriculum. This website has great preventative information for families as well.
If you have any questions or want to learn more about local substance treatment centers, please don't hesitate to reach out.
