MESSAGE FROM MRS. JOHNSON -
We are just missing a few signed handbooks, district policies, and technology agreements. If your child has not brought home these three papers to sign, please contact his/her homeroom teacher for another copy. It is important to get these turned in as soon as possible.
I’m asking the teachers to change the once a week 5-10 point “Students have to be in class to take the test” grade from summative to formative. Meaning it is now more like an assignment than a test grade. This should have a positive effect on a student's grades. If you have any questions, please talk to your child or his/her teacher.
Monday is the first day of Fall. The weather is still beautiful. Enjoy the sunshine while you can. The rain will be here soon.
Mrs. Johnson

Sports Update:
Page 12 of the GMS Student Handbook under Athletics and Afterschool Performances reads: “. . . To be eligible to play in competitions or after school performances, students must be present at school for at least 50% of the day, and have passing grades in all classes. Positive sportsmanship will be required at all times (including during school). Failure to comply may result in removal from the team or class.”
Please make sure your student has passing grades and good behavior so they can play in their games and stay on the team.
Counselor Aloha:
Hello Wolverine Families and Students!! Here is what you should know: How to Make Sure Your Child is Doing Well in School:
Create a supportive environment: Show interest in your child's education, support their interests, and foster a positive attitude towards school.
Establish a routine: Set regular times for homework and a consistent bedtime to ensure they are well-rested and organized for the school day.
Provide a dedicated workspace: Ensure your child has a quiet, distraction-free space to complete their schoolwork.
Promote good habits: Teach study skills, such as breaking down large tasks into smaller ones, and help them develop organizational skills.
Communicate openly: Talk to your child about their day, what they are learning, and any difficulties they may be facing.
