The Gervais School District Comprehensive K–12 School Counseling Program is a systematic, developmental, and data-informed program that supports the academic, social-emotional, and career development of all students. It is designed as an essential component of the district’s overall educational program and is implemented in every school. Through this program, school counselors help students build the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to succeed as learners, contribute positively to their communities, pursue meaningful careers, and engage in lifelong learning.

The district’s counseling program aligns with Oregon’s Framework for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs and reflects the professional and ethical standards established by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). Leadership and coordination of the program are provided by the District Behavior Support Team (BST), a group of counselors representing the elementary, middle, and high school levels. This team works collaboratively to guide the vision, support implementation, and ensure coherence of counseling services across the district.
