From the Principal
Gervais High School is a special place with a caring, well-trained staff and a student body that receives praise throughout the valley. Our community is rich in tradition, generous in its support of education and sincere in its concern for her students’ educational welfare.
The staff of Gervais High School provide a safe, nurturing and enriching environment in which all students have the opportunity to develop physically, emotionally and intellectually. We work hard to be a welcoming place for all languages and cultures. Students thrive under the tutelage of enthusiastic staff members with an average class size of 22. It is easy to be known and nurtured in our hallways.
We encourage all students to “Be Themselves”. Students… you are special, one of a kind, unique. The world will never again see someone with your gifts, your skills, your experiences. Be the best version of yourself you can be.
We encourage all students to “Find Their Niche”. Students… your niche is a special place that you belong to, it ‘fits’ you. This could be a group of friends or an activity, like volleyball, that you participate in. What do you enjoy doing? What do you want to do? High school is a great time to have adventures, to try new elective courses interests, to find where you belong. So go exploring! Take an art class, take an Ag class, join the Music club after school, try-out for the basketball team. Believe in yourself. Try new things. Introduce yourself to new people. Be courageous!
And we encourage all students to work doubly hard to make sure that “No One Eats Alone”. Students… be the person that steps across the cafeteria to invite someone to have lunch with you! Break the cycle of sarcasm, break through those who are hiding in their phone – and be a friend to someone who needs one.
Our commitment to you as a new or returning member of Gervais High School is to provide you with an education that is relevant, engaging, rigorous, and prepares you for college, a trade school or employment. Last year, as a result of our dual enrollment programs, GHS students earned 707 college credits and saved approximately $360,000 in college tuition costs.
We are currently supporting three Career and Technical Education (CTE) strands – Agriculture, Food and Natural Resource Systems; Construction Technology and Early Childhood Education. Two other CTE strands are in process – Health Occupations and Graphic Arts and Design.
We welcome your input. Come visit us. Come join us.

From the Vice Principal
Prior to becoming an Assistant Principal at Gervais High School in August of 2017, I was a classroom teacher for 23 years at Willamina HS and Gervais HS. My move into building administration is just an extension of my classroom mission – to impact students and help them find their vision and future.
I have been married for 32 years to my best friend and partner Lisa. She was a teacher for 35 years and is currently enjoying her first months of retirement.
We have two great children: Sam and Mac, they are 24 years old and are Gervais HS graduates. They are rocking life and we love them so much!
In my off time, I love to read (but can never find enough time), I play golf, listen to music, watch movies, Lisa and I like to travel to warmer places and I take walks with my dog Ozzy.
