Volunteer Info

Gervais School District relies on and greatly appreciates the support of our family and community members.  The following forms are required for participation in activities with students.  If you would like to be a volunteer in the district, please start by filling out and submitting the foms below to the district office at 290 1st Street.  Once verified, you will be eligible to volunteer at events throughout the school year.  For upcoming volunteer opportunities, please contact the school offices directly or see the individual school links below.

1.  Complete the Criminal History Verification Form, which provides consent for a background check.

3.  Click on a school for specific information and opportunities.

  • District Volunteer Opportunities:
    Budget Committee Openings
    Gervais School District will be taking applications for three three-year positions on the Gervais School District Budget Committee.  Applications can be obtained at any Gervais School or at the District Office.  The District Office is located at 290 First Street, Gervais, Oregon.

Completed applications should be returned to the District Office and the positions will be open until filled, prior to the first budget meeting.  Applicants must be registered voters and residents of the district.  Volunteer verification is not required.  For more information please contact the district office at 503-792-3801.

The School Board will review names and applications, have each prospective committee member tell about themselves and then appoint these positions at a School Board meeting.

A pre-budget meeting will be scheduled in March to familiarize new budget committee members with the budget process.  The budget message will be given on April 25, 2013 with subsequent meetings held as needed until a budget is approved by June 20, 2013.

What is a Key Communicator?

A Key Communicator is someone to whom others turn for information about our school district. Many times people who live in the district will rely on neighbors and colleagues for timely information about what is happening in local schools. When you subscribe using the link above, you will be emailed weekly updates from the Gervais website.
