Dear Parents,

As we enter our final week before the Thanksgiving Break, I wanted to share a few thoughts with all of you.  Even though school is out from Monday, November 23 through Monday, November 30th, your student is still able to access their courses. For our high school students it is imperative that they use this time to be working on any courses that they are failing. We know that across the state, the failure rate is higher than it has ever been which is jeopardizing many students’ ability to graduate high school on time.  By using this time, many students will be able to catch up on a significant portion of their missing work. If you are unsure where your student stands, please contact your building’s counselor or administrator.

Last week the Governor issued the “freeze” including an additional travel advisory for our state in an effort to reduce the spread of the virus.  At this point in time, the district has put a hold on our Limited In-Person Instruction as well as our sports. That decision was made two weeks ago because there was an outbreak of 70 new cases in two areas where students in our district live. I am sure this was a direct result of Halloween activities.  I am asking you to all do your part in stopping the rate of infection. Please limit your gatherings and wear face coverings. Please follow the Governor’s guidance and limit the number of people you are around during this break so that we can bring your students back into the buildings.

Thank you for your support,

Dandy Stevens

Queridos padres,
